Characteristics and traits

• Domain – x values
• Range – y values
• End behavior – x→-∞,y→∞ or -∞
• Absolute max/min - 1 highest/lowest point
• Local max/min - more than one lowest/highest point
• interval of increase/decrease - what happens to a graph (y values) as you move along the x axis if y values are increasing
• x intercept - the point that crosses the x axis
• y intercept - the point that crosses the y axis
• symmetry - if it is symmetric around the origin or the y axis
• even/odd/neither - even;symmetric around y axis                                           odd; rotation around origin          neither; none
• function - a function is an equation that passes the vertical line test
• one to one - passes the horizontal line test
• assymptotes - the line that gets close to the x axis but never touches it
